When I woke up this morning I looked around
I needed a drink but there was none to be found

Back at home my family was worrying

So I started to think to get back to my culture

Back in the past a man woke at sunrise

He grabbed his boomerang and his spear
He went out hunting and all he could hear
Was bush tucker hopping, it was a kangaroo
So he went after it and knew what to do
He threw his spear and knocked him down
Then he hit it on the head with his boomerang
He took it back home to his family
He started to cook and they had a good meal
They sat around the fire and talked songlines
About a giant dingo in the old dreamtime
He lived in a place called Ali Curung

So he went to sleep and woke with a fright
He realised it was a dream he'd had in the night
he thought of his future to keep his culture strong
He thought of his family and left the grog behind
